Ved Lahoti Tops JEE Advanced 2024, Record Number of Qualifiers – All You Need to Know

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Advanced results for 2024 were recently announced, with Ved Lahoti from the Delhi zone emerging as the all India topper. A total of 48,248 candidates qualified this year, marking a significant increase from the previous year. JEE-Advanced is a crucial exam for students aiming to secure admissions to the prestigious 23 Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).

This year, the exam was conducted by IIT-Madras, attracting a substantial number of candidates. Out of the 1,80,200 students who appeared for both paper 1 and 2, an impressive 48,248 candidates successfully cleared the exam. Notably, 7,964 of the qualified candidates are female students, reflecting a positive trend towards gender diversity in STEM fields.

Ved Lahoti’s exceptional performance secured him the top spot with a remarkable score of 355 out of 360 marks. Aditya, the second rank holder, also hails from the Delhi zone, further highlighting the strong performance of candidates from this region. Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel, representing the IIT Bombay zone, stood out as the top-ranked female candidate, achieving a score of 332 out of 360 marks.

The distribution of qualifiers across different zones showcased the competitive spirit among students from various regions. Delhi zone led the tally with 10,255 candidates qualifying, followed by IIT Bombay with 9,480 qualifiers, IIT Kanpur with 4,928 qualifiers, and IIT Bhubaneswar with 4,811 qualifiers. Additionally, a significant number of candidates from IIT-Madras and IIT-Delhi and Bombay zones secured positions in the top 10 ranks.

One of the key factors influencing the results this year was the revised cut-off marks for JEE (Advanced), leading to an increase in the minimum percentage of marks required for inclusion in the rank list. The qualifying scores for different categories, including General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, and ST candidates, witnessed an upward trend compared to the previous year.
