Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Prithviraj Chavan, the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), recently held a joint press conference in Mumbai to express their gratitude to the citizens for supporting their alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. During the press conference, NCP chief Sharad Pawar took a humorous jibe at Prime Minister Modi, crediting him for the MVA’s success in Maharashtra. Pawar humorously remarked that wherever Modi campaigned, the MVA secured victories, attributing their Lok Sabha performance to the Prime Minister’s roadshows and rallies.

In Maharashtra, the MVA alliance, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP), emerged victorious by securing 30 out of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats. This victory was significant as it dealt a blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with the BJP managing to win only nine seats in the state, a sharp decline from the 23 seats it secured in the 2019 elections.

Furthermore, the Election Commission data revealed that the NDA faced defeat in the majority of constituencies where Modi campaigned, failing to secure victories in 15 out of the 18 seats visited by the Prime Minister. Referring to his nephew Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar ruled out any possibility of his return to the NCP, emphasizing the alliance’s commitment to strengthening their coalition for future elections.

Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, expressed appreciation towards citizen groups and various YouTube channels for their contributions to raising awareness during the election campaign. Thackeray emphasized the need for unity within the MVA coalition and announced the alliance’s decision to jointly contest the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, signaling a unified front in the state’s political landscape.

The leaders highlighted the significance of the MVA’s victory in Maharashtra, acknowledging the support of the people and attributing their success to a unified approach towards safeguarding democracy and constitutional values. As Maharashtra gears up for the assembly elections, the MVA leaders are optimistic about receiving continued support from the electorate and fostering a positive change in the state’s governance.
