Pope Francis is gearing up for a busy month ahead as he embarks on his 45th Apostolic Journey abroad. The Holy Father’s complete schedule for his journey to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Singapore has been officially released, outlining a packed itinerary that spans across four countries in less than two weeks.
Departing from Rome on 2 September, the Pope will kick off his journey by landing in Jakarta, Indonesia, before traveling to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, then to Dili, Timor-Leste, and finally concluding his visit in Singapore on 13 September.
The schedule is packed with various activities, including meetings with government officials, religious leaders, and members of the community. From private gatherings with the Society of Jesus to interreligious meetings and holy masses, Pope Francis will engage with a diverse range of individuals during his tour.
In Indonesia, a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, the Pope will address congregations of Catholics and meet with multicultural audiences, emphasizing the importance of interfaith dialogue.
