Samsung recently unveiled its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, during the Galaxy Unpacked event in India. These new devices come packed with nearly 25 unique Galaxy AI features, showcasing Samsung’s focus on integrating artificial intelligence into mobile experiences.
The sixth generation of Samsung’s foldable and flip smartphones is set to compete against Vivo’s X Fold 3 Pro and Motorola’s Razr 50 Ultra in the Indian market. Samsung’s emphasis on Galaxy AI in their new devices aims to enhance user experience and set a new standard for AI-enabled smartphones.
During the launch event, Samsung highlighted the various generative AI features on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. These include Note Assist for translation and summarization, Composer from Samsung Keyboard for text generation, and an updated S-Pen with a sketch-to-image feature for creative tasks.
The collaboration with Google is evident in the Galaxy AI features, with the Gemini app providing an AI-powered assistant on the new Galaxy Z series. Features like Circle to Search and Live Translate work seamlessly to enhance user interactions and productivity.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers an enhanced editing experience with Photo Assist and Portrait Studio for creating different portrait styles. The Flip 6, on the other hand, introduces a new Interpreter feature for convenient translations and flexibility in communication.
In terms of hardware, both devices are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, offering improved performance and graphics. The Z Flip 6 includes a vapour chamber for the first time, while the Z Fold 6 boasts a higher display refresh rate and peak brightness.
While the new foldable and flip phones come with enhanced features, Samsung has also increased the pricing, with the Z Flip 6 starting at ₹1,09,999 and the Z Fold 6 starting at ₹1,64,999 for the base models. The premium models cross the ₹2 lakh mark for the first time.
Despite the higher prices, the new Galaxy Z series aims to cater to the niche market of foldable smartphone enthusiasts with advanced AI features and improved overall performance.
