A tragic incident unfolded in Delhi at the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where a 32-year-old patient, Riyazuddin, fell victim to a gang war when he was shot dead in a case of mistaken identity. The shooting took place inside ward number 24, alarming both hospital staff and residents.
The ruthless incident occurred when a group led by gangster Hashim Baba targeted a criminal from the Nasir gang but mistakenly opened fire on Riyazuddin, who was being treated for an abdominal infection. The perpetrators, including an 18-year-old shooter accompanied by three others, entered the hospital ward through the emergency gate, as captured by CCTV footage.
Despite the erroneous identification leading to the untimely demise of Riyazuddin, two of the shooters, Faiz and Farhan, have been apprehended by the police. Faiz acknowledged the mastermind behind the attack, Badshah Khan alias Faheem, who orchestrated the plan at his residence in Babarpur.
As a result of the hospital shooting, resident doctors initiated an indefinite strike, emphasizing the critical need for enhanced security measures within the medical facility. The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) lamented the lack of response to their security concerns, making it clear that until the hospital environment is safeguarded, their services will remain suspended.
The Delhi Police swiftly responded to the incident by arresting the culprits and launching a comprehensive investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary assured relentless efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects, bring them to justice, and restore peace at the hospital.
This unfortunate event underscores the urgent requirement for tighter security protocols and vigilance in healthcare settings, reminding us of the vulnerability of innocent lives in the crossfire of criminal activities. Stay tuned to HeadlineFly.com for the latest updates on this developing story.
