Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan recently made his acting debut in the film Maharaj, which was released on Netflix screens on June 21. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, Junaid portrays the character of Karsandas Mulji, a young journalist and social reformer. This milestone moment was not only celebrated by Junaid himself but also by his family, including his sister Ira Khan and his father Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao. Ira Khan took to Instagram to share a poster of Maharaj, encouraging her followers to watch the film with a ‘watch now’ GIF. Additionally, she posted a snippet featuring Junaid’s character, tagging Netflix India and using relevant hashtags. The film, besides Junaid, stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, and Sharvari in pivotal roles. Maharaj is a period drama adapted from a bestselling Gujarati book by Saurabh Shah. Aamir Khan, who was shooting for his film Sitaare Zameen Par in Delhi, made a quick trip back to Mumbai to cast his vote in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Accompanied by Kiran Rao, Aamir was seen in high spirits at the polling booth wearing a casual black T-shirt and jeans. Ira Khan and Junaid were also spotted at a polling booth in Bandra casting their votes. Aamir’s mother Zeenat Khan also participated in the voting process. Last week, Aamir was busy shooting for Sitaare Zameen Par in Delhi. The film revolves around the Paralympic Games and features child actors alongside Aamir. As Junaid embarks on his journey in the film industry, his family’s unwavering support and enthusiasm for Maharaj are evident, showcasing a united front of encouragement and pride.
