Adobe is revolutionizing the digital document experience with the introduction of new generative AI features in Acrobat Reader. The company’s latest update allows users to create and edit images in PDFs using text prompts, making it easier than ever to enhance productivity and creativity while working with digital documents. Powered by Firefly AI, the Edit Image and Generate Image features in Acrobat Reader offer users a seamless way to manipulate images within their PDF files. The Edit Image feature provides tools like generative fill, remove background, erase, and crop, allowing users to easily make edits to their images directly within the app. On the other hand, the Generate Image feature leverages the power of Firefly Image 3 model to add new images to PDFs, giving users the flexibility to adjust image size and style to suit their needs. According to Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of Adobe Document Cloud, the incorporation of generative AI in Acrobat Reader aims to provide users with a deeper understanding of their documents and transform information into compelling content with the simplicity of a text prompt. In addition to image editing capabilities, Adobe is also enhancing the Acrobat AI assistant with features like Insights across documents and Enhanced meeting transcripts. The Insights feature enables users to identify key themes, trends, and relationships across various document types, while the Enhanced meeting transcripts feature generates summaries of meeting transcripts to help users grasp main topics and action points efficiently. With a roadmap of future capabilities still to be unveiled, Adobe’s AI Assistant in Acrobat is set to redefine how users interact with digital documents and streamline the document management process.
