AgniKul Cosmos, an Indian space startup, has marked a significant milestone in India’s space industry by successfully launching its first sub-orbital rocket, Agnibaan SOrTeD, powered by the world’s first single-piece 3D-printed rocket engine. The launch took place at 7.15 am on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from the private launchpad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

This achievement follows several postponed launch attempts by AgniKul Cosmos and signifies a breakthrough in the utilization of advanced technology in rocket propulsion. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) lauded the successful launch, highlighting it as the first-ever controlled flight of a semi-cryogenic liquid engine produced through additive manufacturing.
