In a recent press conference, Maharashtra NCP President Sunil Tatkare refuted the reports of NCP MLAs returning to Sharad Pawar’s camp after the poll debacle. Tatkare emphasized that all MLAs are united with Ajit Pawar. He mentioned that misinformation was deliberately spread during the Lok Sabha elections, with fake videos circulated to create discord. Tatkare dismissed rumors of MLAs being in touch with the Sharad Pawar faction, asserting that the entire party is one team.
The core committee meeting of the party reviewed the Lok Sabha election results, with plans outlined for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections. Tatkare highlighted the aggressive approach the party plans to take for the state polls. He also mentioned a scheduled meeting with all NCP MLAs to discuss election strategies and preparations.
Furthermore, Tatkare announced his participation in the NDA MPs’ meeting in Delhi, indicating cohesion within the BJP-led NDA alliance. The Lok Sabha Election 2024 results showed the INDIA alliance securing a significant 30 seats, challenging the NDA’s dominance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi secured a third term, but with the BJP falling 32 seats short of a majority, coalition support became crucial.
As the opposition bloc witnessed gains, Shiv Sena remained in the spotlight with rumors of rejoining the NDA circulating. However, the Uddhav Thackeray faction dismissed such reports, asserting their commitment to the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance.
