The BJP has strongly criticized Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra for her comments against NCW chief Rekha Sharma and demanded that she be removed from her party. The controversy erupted when TMC, in response to a video on social media showing the NCW chairperson’s presence at the site of a recent stampede in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, made a derogatory remark. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla condemned Moitra’s comments as ‘indecent, objectionable, and shameful’, highlighting what he called the true face of TMC and the opposition parties’ INDIA bloc.

Poonawalla further accused Moitra of justifying and staying silent during previous controversial events and criticized her for making disrespectful remarks towards a woman, especially the NCW Chief. He demanded that Moitra be expelled from the TMC for her behavior. The BJP spokesperson also questioned the silence of Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and other political figures on Moitra’s comments and urged them to take a stand against such behavior.

The ongoing exchange between TMC’s Mahua Moitra and BJP representatives has highlighted the intense political climate in India, with both parties engaging in verbal showdowns. The comments made by Moitra have drawn severe criticism from the BJP, showcasing the deep-rooted animosity between the two political factions. This incident underscores the importance of maintaining decorum and respect in political discourse, especially when addressing sensitive issues and individuals in public forums.
