Amidst recent desertions within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, several BRS leaders and elected representatives have turned to party president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for guidance and support. The dismay over some BRS MLAs leaving the party to join the ruling Congress has led to a series of visits by party members to Rao.
The latest desertion came when Dr. Sanjay Kumar, representing Jagtial constituency, joined the Congress on Sunday. Prior to this, senior party leader Pocharam Srinivas Reddy had also switched sides. The trend continued with three more BRS MLAs, Danam Nagender, Prakash Goud, and Tellam Venkat Rao, joining the ruling party.
In response to the growing discontent within the party, a group of leaders visited Chandrashekar Rao at his farm house in Erravalli village. Among the attendees were former minister G. Jagadish Reddy, Rajya Sabha member V. Ravichandra, along with several MLAs, MLCs, former MLAs, and other prominent figures from the party.
During the meeting, Chandrashekar Rao expressed his support for the party members and urged them not to lose hope. He reassured the leaders that the party has weathered many challenges in the past and will take necessary steps to strengthen and revitalize the organization in the near future. With a message of resilience and unity, Rao instilled confidence in the BRS leaders, emphasizing the importance of staying strong in the face of adversity.
