In a recent development, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has come out swinging against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claims of creating eight crore jobs in the past four years, calling it a ‘web of lies.’ Kharge’s rebuttal follows PM Modi’s assertion that the generation of eight crore new jobs has silenced critics spreading misinformation about unemployment. Questioning the Prime Minister’s statements, Kharge highlighted the National Recruitment Agency (NRA), which was introduced in August 2020. Modi had hailed the NRA as a landmark initiative for young people, streamlining the examination process and promoting transparency. However, Kharge pointed out that the NRA has yet to conduct a single exam in its four-year existence and has only utilized a small fraction of its allocated budget, leaving significant questions unanswered. The Congressman raised concerns about potential deliberate inactivity within the NRA, potentially affecting the reservation rights of marginalized communities. He also condemned the alleged malpractice and paper leaks in public exams, attributing these issues to the manipulation tactics of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Kharge accused the BJP-RSS coalition of jeopardizing the education system and jeopardizing the future of the youth. Prime Minister Modi’s claims were made during an event in Mumbai where he inaugurated infrastructure projects worth Rs 29,000 crore. These projects include the expansion of the metro network, establishment of new highways, and the inauguration of Atal Setu, India’s longest sea bridge linking Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Additionally, PM Modi attended the Shubh Aashirwad ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, where he was welcomed by Mukesh and Nita Ambani and blessed the newlyweds on stage.
