In a fiery statement, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for their role in spreading hate and division in India. Addressing two rallies in Rajasthan, Gandhi accused the BJP and RSS of using religion to sow discord in society, with the ultimate goal of keeping the poor and marginalized away from important issues like unemployment and inflation.

During a public meeting in Udaipur, Gandhi highlighted the Bharat Jodo Yatra initiated by the Congress, aimed at countering the BJP’s divisive agenda. He emphasized the importance of fostering unity and love in a climate of hate, stating, ‘The objective was to end the hatred spread by BJP. Our country is a country of brotherhood. We gave the slogan during the yatra that we have to open a shop of love in the market of hatred.’

Gandhi’s scathing remarks were directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of deflecting attention from critical issues and collaborating with industrialists like Adani to the detriment of the common people. He criticized the media for being controlled by Modi and Adani, prioritizing entertainment over pressing concerns faced by farmers and laborers.

Taking a dig at Modi’s recent cricket analogies, Gandhi used the ‘panauti’ trend on social media following India’s World Cup defeat to criticize the Prime Minister, remarking, ‘Panauti got our team defeated. PM means Panauti Modi.’ He also called out the government’s preferential treatment towards the wealthy elite at the expense of the underprivileged segments of society.

Rahul Gandhi concluded his address by calling on the public to support a government that prioritizes the welfare of the poor, tribal communities, backward classes, and small shopkeepers, contrasting the Congress’ focus on inclusive schemes with what he termed as ‘Adani-centric’ policies of the BJP. The impassioned speech by Gandhi underscores the deep-seated tensions and ideological clashes prevailing in the political landscape of India.
