The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on June 21 that the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination scheduled for June 25 to 27 has been postponed due to “unavoidable circumstances” and logistic issues. The revised exam schedule will be released later on the official NTA website.

This decision came after the Education Minister cancelled the UGC-NET exam, following concerns raised by the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination under the Ministry of Home Affairs about the integrity of the examination.

Opposition parties, including Congress, have criticized the government over alleged irregularities in various competitive examinations. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of capturing educational institutions and facilitating such issues.

Responding to the criticisms, the Education Minister announced the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the matter further. Following inputs about leaked questions being available on the darknet, a comparison with the original paper confirmed the breach, leading to a CBI investigation and the decision to cancel the exam to maintain its integrity.
