The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to conduct a CUET UG retest for approximately 1,000 candidates on July 19, following several exam postponements and cancellations. Originally scheduled to be released on June 30, the CUET UG results were delayed as NTA grappled with paper leak allegations involving NEET UG, UGC NET, and CSIR UGC NET. The provision of a retest for CUET UG candidates was mentioned in the provisional answer key released by NTA on July 7.
The retest will be conducted in an online mode, with roughly 250 candidates from Oasis Public School in Hazaribagh expected to participate. This particular center has faced scrutiny for NEET UG leaks, with all candidates directed to take the retest on July 19. Other reasons for the retest include loss of time and distribution of question papers in the incorrect language. Following the retest on July 19, NTA aims to release the CUET UG results by July 22.
CUET UG serves as a single-window test for admission to undergraduate programs across 46 central universities, including reputed institutions like Delhi University, Allahabad University, and Banaras Hindu University. The entrance test for this year was conducted in a hybrid format, combining online and pen-and-paper modes across multiple shifts.
The CUET UG re-examination has been announced to address grievances raised by affected candidates, with preparations underway for the release of the final answer keys. As the retest date approaches, candidates are urged to keep a close eye on the official website for updates on the results.
This development underscores the NTA’s commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process, particularly in light of recent challenges and controversies in the competitive exam landscape.
