Priced between ₹95,000 and ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), the Freedom 125 offers riders a unique opportunity to switch between petrol and CNG, aiming to reduce operational costs and emissions.
The Bajaj Freedom 125 is a game-changer for cost-conscious consumers, boasting a 50 percent reduction in fuel expenses compared to its competitors. Equipped with a small petrol tank and a CNG cylinder, riders can seamlessly switch between fuel types with a handlebar-mounted switch. The motorcycle features separate filler nozzles for CNG and petrol, accommodating their distinct storage needs with a petrol tank capacity of 2 liters and a CNG tank capacity of 2 kg.
Bajaj claims that the Freedom 125 has an impressive range, covering up to 213 km on CNG alone, with an additional 117 km from the petrol tank, totaling 330 km. The bike’s fuel efficiency is rated at 102 km/kg for CNG and 64 km/l for petrol.
Powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection, the Freedom 125 delivers 9.4 bhp and 9.7 Nm of torque. It features telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, front disc brake, rear drum brake, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Stylistically, the Bajaj Freedom 125 embraces a modern-retro design with a round headlamp showcasing a DRL. The bike’s aesthetic includes a flat seat, wide handlebar, and center-set foot pegs for a comfortable riding position, complemented by a semi-digital instrument cluster with various indicators like a low CNG alert and neutral gear indicator.
The launch of the Bajaj Freedom 125 marks a significant milestone in the Indian motorcycle industry, setting a new standard for fuel efficiency and sustainability. With its innovative CNG technology, the Freedom 125 offers riders a cost-effective and eco-friendly commuting solution, leading the way towards a greener future for India’s two-wheeler market.
