Delhi Petrol Pump Owners to Close Pollution Under Control Centres Due to Hike in Rates

In a recent development, petrol pump owners in Delhi have announced that Pollution Under Control (PUC) centres will remain shut from today, July 15, due to their dissatisfaction over the proposed hike in rates of pollution certificates by the Delhi government. The Delhi Petrol Dealers’ Association (DPDA) expressed their concerns in a statement issued on Sunday, citing the unviability of operating the PUC centres. The recent increase in PUC certificate charges for petrol, CNG, and diesel vehicles by the Delhi government has been a point of contention for the petrol pump owners. The hike, ranging between ₹20 and ₹40, was announced on Thursday with immediate effect upon notification by the Delhi government.
