Apple has recently announced the winners of the 2024 Apple Design Awards, celebrating innovation and excellence in app design and development. The annual awards, which honor the best-in-class applications and games, aim to encourage creativity and innovation among developers. This year, Apple has selected 14 top apps and games in various categories, including delight and fun, inclusivity, innovation, interaction, social impact, visuals and graphics, and a new spatial computing segment.
In the delight and fun category, Bears Gratitude and New York Times Games emerged as the top winners. Bears Gratitude is a wellness-cum-journaling app developed by Isuru Wanasinghe from Australia, aimed at promoting happiness and self-reflection. On the other hand, New York Times Games introduced a range of new titles offering maximum replay value and engaging design.
The inclusivity category witnessed the victory of oko, an app by AYES from Belgium, that assists visually impaired pedestrians in navigating roads. Crayola Adventures, developed by Red Games Co. in the US, allows users to create diverse virtual life characters with various attributes.
In the innovation segment, Procreate Dreams by Procreate from Australia was recognized for its innovative productivity features. The Lost in Play game by Happy Juice Games from Israel also received accolades for its innovative gameplay and graphics.
Crouton, an interactive note-taking app by Devin Davies from New Zealand, took the top honor in the interaction category. Rytmos, developed by Floppy Club in Denmark, won for its engaging puzzle-based gameplay.
Gentler Streak Fitness Tracker by Gentler Stories from Slovenia and The Wreck by The Pixel Hunt from France earned recognition in the social impact category for their meaningful contributions. In the visuals and graphics category, Rooms by Things Inc. from the US and Lies of P by NEOWIZ from South Korea were declared winners.
The new spatial computing category honored djay pro – DJ App & AI Mixer app by algoriddim GmbH from Germany for its immersive music capabilities. Additionally, the game Blackbox by Shapes and Stories from the US was recognized for its engaging puzzles and spatial experiences.
These deserving winners will be showcased at the upcoming World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, underscoring Apple’s commitment to fostering talent and innovation in the tech industry.
