OpenAI has recently made its GPT Store free for all users, offering access to a variety of custom chatbots created by individuals worldwide. Previously, only ChatGPT Plus subscribers had this privilege. To access custom GPTs in the GPT Store, users in India can follow these simple steps: Step 1: Open ChatGPT on your desktop or mobile app. Step 2: In the desktop version, locate the GPT Store tab labeled ‘Explore GPTs’ at the top left. For the mobile app, tap on the menu icon at the top left corner and find the same tab. Step 3: Click on the ‘Explore GPTs’ tab to browse through the various creations available in the GPT Store, categorized based on their utility. Step 4: Choose a section that interests you, such as the writing section offering a ‘Write For Me’ GPT. Step 5: Select the desired GPT and click on ‘Start Chat’ to interact with it. Your conversations with GPTs will be displayed above the Explore GPTs tab. Some of the popular custom bots currently featured in the store include an image-generating bot, a scientific research chatbot named Consensus, and a logo-making bot. OpenAI is also introducing GPT-4o, a multimodal ‘omnimodel’ with various capabilities including chatbot functionality, vision-based analysis, and live chat features. Additionally, users will now be able to upload files and photos for summary and analysis, search the web through ChatGPT, and utilize GPT-4 with memory of previous conversations, all of which were previously restricted to paid ChatGPT subscribers. With these new offerings, OpenAI aims to enhance user experience and foster collaboration with ChatGPT without the UI distractions. It’s worth noting that although free users can access custom GPTs in the GPT Store, they are unable to create their own. The advancements in OpenAI’s GPT Store signify a significant step towards democratizing access to advanced AI technologies, allowing users in India and around the world to explore and utilize custom chatbots for various purposes.
