Google has officially launched its Gemini mobile app in India with support for nine Indian languages, marking a significant step forward in its AI initiatives. The Gemini app, powered by Gemini 1.0 Pro, offers users the ability to access AI assistance in languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The app allows users to type, talk, or even add images to receive assistance for various tasks. Additionally, a paid option, Gemini Advanced, based on Gemini 1.5 Pro, provides users with a more advanced AI experience, including a 1 million token context window for processing complex information, support for document analysis, and data analysis tasks.

Aside from India, Google has also quietly rolled out the Gemini app in Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, expanding its reach across multiple regions. Android users in eligible countries can download the app through the Play Store, with an iOS rollout expected in the coming weeks. The Gemini app can also be set as the default AI assistant in the Google Assistant app.

During Google’s recent I/O developer conference, several expansions of the Gemini AI assistant were showcased, including integrations into apps like Gmail, Google Messages, YouTube, and a deep integration within the Android operating system. The app is expected to receive further updates and features in the future, enhancing the user’s overall experience with the AI assistant.

With features like multi-language support, advanced data analysis capabilities, and integration with popular Google apps, Gemini aims to provide a seamless and interactive AI experience for users across different regions. As the AI race intensifies among tech giants like Google, Meta, and Apple, the launch of Gemini in India signifies Google’s commitment to innovation and enhancing user experiences through AI technology.
