As part of Monsoon 2024, Southwest Monsoon has advanced further into several parts of India, reported the IMD. These include West Rajasthan, remaining parts of East Rajasthan, parts of Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and some more parts of East Uttar Pradesh, reported the IMD.

The observatory body has also mentioned that conditions are expected to become favourable for the South West monsoon to advance in the parts of Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu, within a span of two to three days. The Indian Meteorological Department( IMD) has issued an orange alert for districts of Delhi, hinting at moderate to intense wet spells. The orange alert is expected to prevail until June 29. The weather observatory\xe2\x80\x99s bulletin issued on June 27 mentioned the further advance of the Southwest monsoon in most areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Other areas include Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and areas of Punjab. Chaos ensued as the roof of T1 terminal at Delhi Airport collapsed, killing one and injuring five others. Parts of the roof that have collapsed hit several other cars. Following the incident, several flight operations have been shifted to T2 and T3 terminals at the airport. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had closed Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector – 25 Metro station entry/exit due to heavy rains. Shuttle service to Terminal 1-IGI Airport suspended from Delhi Aerocity Metro station has also been suspended.
