The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made some significant changes to the Indian squad for the upcoming India vs Zimbabwe five-match series. Stranded T20 World Cup 2024 winning players Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, and Sanju Samson have been replaced with Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana for the first two T20 International matches. These replacements come as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, and Sanju Samson, along with other World Cup heroes, got stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl.
The series, set to begin on Saturday, will see a fresh look Indian team being captained by Shubman Gill and coached by former batter VVS Laxman. The team includes notable names like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, and Washington Sundar. Notably, Sai Sudharsan, one of the replacement players, has prior experience playing under Gill’s captaincy with the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024.
