According to the Army, the family has already been paid Rs 98.39 lakh out of the total amount due, which will be approximately Rs 1.65 crore. Gandhi used Kumar’s case to allege that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had lied in Parliament about the issue of compensation to families of martyred Agniveers and demanded an apology.
