The latest leak about the iPhone 16 cases hints at a major design overhaul, including a new camera layout and the introduction of a dedicated camera button. TechNetBook recently obtained images of iPhone 16 cases that suggest significant changes in the upcoming model. The leaked cases showcase a vertical camera setup and a cutout for a physical camera shutter button, marking a departure from previous iPhone designs.
The primary design change with the iPhone 16 is the vertical camera array, featuring two vertically stacked cameras, in contrast to the diagonally positioned camera unit seen on previous models like the iPhone 15. This new camera layout is expected to enable 3D video recording, allowing users to capture spatial videos, a feature previously limited to ‘pro’ iPhones. The flash unit on the iPhone 16 also appears to be distinct, resembling that of the iPhone X but with a larger size.
Moreover, the iPhone 16 will introduce an action button, replacing the mute switch, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro series in 2023. The haptic engine will power the dedicated camera shutter button, offering users a seamless experience to focus and capture photos with a soft tap. The leaked cases also suggest that the upcoming iPhone might feature more physical keys than its predecessor, contrary to earlier speculations about removing all physical buttons.
In terms of size, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumored to come with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch 60Hz OLED screens, maintaining the same display dimensions as their predecessors. Both models are expected to be powered by a modified version of the A17 Pro chip, equipped with 6/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The iPhone 16 series is anticipated to launch in September, with a slew of design upgrades and a focus on enhanced camera capabilities.
