The Israeli embassy in India has advised its citizens to explore the beautiful beaches of India after the Maldives government announced a ban on Israeli passport holders from entering the country. The Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu made the decision in response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, leading to public anger in the predominantly Muslim archipelago. While the exact date of when the ban will take effect was not specified, the government has set up a subcommittee to oversee the process. Reacting to the ban, Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recommended Israeli citizens, including those with dual citizenship, not to travel to the Maldives. Additionally, Israeli nationals currently in the Maldives are advised to consider leaving the country to avoid any potential distress in case of emergencies. With the ban in place, the Israeli embassy in India has suggested various Indian destinations for Israeli tourists to visit, including the picturesque beaches of Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, and Kerala.
