The incident took place on Sunday when a group of terrorists targeted a passenger bus carrying pilgrims from various states on their way to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The attack unfolded near Teryath village in the Poni area, causing the bus to plunge into a deep gorge in Reasi district amidst the gunfire. The victims hailed from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi, making the incident a national tragedy.
