Another case of sodomy has been registered against JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna in Hassan district, Karnataka. The complaint was lodged by a close aide of Suraj Revanna, leading to the registration of a second FIR at Holenarasipura police station. This comes after the initial case of sodomy was filed against him on Saturday night, with the MLC being subsequently arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The complainant alleged that the assault took place at Suraj Revanna’s farmhouse on June 16.
Suraj Revanna, the son of Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, has vehemently denied the accusations, stating that the complaint was fabricated to extort money from him. Moreover, the situation is compounded by the fact that Suraj’s brother, former MP Prajwal Revanna, is also in police custody for allegedly assaulting multiple women in the same district.
In an interesting turn of events, a special court in Bengaluru has ordered the CID custody of Suraj Revanna to be extended till July 1. The CID took over the case from local police and presented the accused before a special court. The charges against Suraj Revanna include sections related to carnal intercourse, wrongful confinement, and intentional insult under the Indian Penal Code.
It is essential to note that this case, along with several others involving the Revanna family, has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. The turmoil surrounding the allegations and legal proceedings has garnered significant attention in Karnataka politics, as the Revanna family has been prominent figures in the area.
The developments in the case bring to light the complexity of the situation, with multiple accusations and counter-allegations being made by different parties. The involvement of high-profile individuals has added a layer of intrigue to the proceedings, drawing widespread interest from the public and media alike. As the investigation unfolds, the outcomes of the legal actions against Suraj Revanna and others involved will be closely monitored for their implications on the political landscape of Karnataka and the reputation of the individuals implicated in the case.
