The incident at Chandigarh airport involving Bollywood actor and BJP’s newly elected MP from Himachal’s Mandi seat, Kangana Ranaut, being slapped by a CISF guard, has sparked controversy and debate over her comments on the farmers’ protests. The security officer, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, interacted with Ranaut while she was going to Delhi, during which Kaur mentioned being triggered by Ranaut’s previous remark regarding the farmers’ protest. Ms. Kaur, suspended following the incident, accused Ranaut of disrespecting farmers, whom she herself hails from a family background of. The altercation between the two caught on video resulted in Kaur hitting Ranaut’s face and exchanging verbal insults. Ranaut took to social media expressing her concerns about the rising terrorism in Punjab, urging for better security measures. The encounter escalated from a security check-in disagreement to a publicized incident shedding light on varying viewpoints.
