The seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024 is set to take place on Saturday, June 1. In this last phase, voters from 57 Lok Sabha constituencies across eight states and union territories will cast their votes. As part of the election process, there will be certain measures and restrictions in place across all the polling constituencies.
During the voting hours from 7 am to 6 pm, all schools and educational institutes in the polling constituencies will remain closed. This decision is made to ensure a smooth voting process as some educational centers are also used as polling booths, requiring heightened security.
In addition to educational institutions, all state government offices will be closed during the polling hours. Banks in some constituencies will also be closed, as the polling day falls on a Saturday. Moreover, liquor stores will not be operational, and the sale of commercial liquor will be banned in all 57 constituencies during the polling hours.
Despite the closures, essential services such as hospitals, ambulance services, healthcare facilities, and law enforcement agencies will continue to operate on June 1. Pharmacies and grocery shops will also remain open to cater to the public’s needs.
Public transportation will operate on regular routes, with some constituencies potentially adding extra routes to facilitate voters on polling day. Commercial establishments like hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and theaters are expected to remain open, although their hours may vary depending on the voting timings.
Notable candidates contesting in this final phase of the Lok Sabha election include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, actress Kangana Ranaut, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti, MP Ravi Kishan, and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee. The results of the Lok Sabha election 2024 will be announced on June 4, marking the conclusion of this significant electoral process.
