In a shocking incident in Mumbai’s Sakinaka area, a man named Rajendra Shinde, aged 45, stabbed his wife and son with a knife in a fit of rage over the delay in bringing his birthday cake. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, leaving both victims injured and Shinde currently on the run. Shinde, who works as a welder, had a personal dispute with his wife, Ranjana, who works as a housemaid. Ranjana arrived home with the birthday cake only by 12.15 am on Sunday due to work delay, sparking Shinde’s fury. This led to a violent altercation where Shinde stabbed his son, Sunil, below his ribs and in the chest, and later stabbed Ranjana in the wrist as she tried to intervene.
The injured victims were rushed to a hospital by neighbors, with Sunil undergoing treatment at Rajawadi Hospital, while Ranjana was allowed to go home after receiving medical attention. The police have registered a case of attempted murder under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code against Shinde and are actively searching for him. Sources reveal that the tension between Shinde and Ranjana had been simmering for some time, exacerbated by Shinde’s drinking habits. The gravity of the situation highlights the repercussions of violent outbursts within domestic settings, shedding light on the importance of conflict resolution and anger management.
