The visit of Uttar Pradesh Minister and Nishad Party President, Sanjay Nishad to Bithalpur village in Deoria district took a tumultuous turn, resulting in heightened tensions and chaos. The Minister’s speech, aimed at seeking justice for the deceased Deepu Nishad, allegedly led to unrest in the village. As the Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the police’s inaction in arresting the accused, supporters associated with the Nishad Party reportedly vandalized property belonging to the village head and his brothers.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ratnesh Tiwari intervened, appealing to the Minister to assist in restoring peace amidst the escalating situation. However, the confrontation between the Minister and enraged villagers led to his abrupt departure from the village, following the intervention of local police officials and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma.
Sanjay Nishad’s subsequent statements highlighted his intention to ensure justice for the victims, raising concerns about local officials allegedly protecting the accused individuals who were out on bail in another case. The Minister vowed to escalate the matter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In response to the escalating tensions, the security around the village was reinforced in anticipation of a visit by the fact-finding committee of the Samajwadi Party. Circle Officer of Rudrapur, Anushman Srivastav, confirmed the initiation of an inquiry and filing of a case against the village head and his brothers based on the complaint lodged by Ramavati Devi. The aftermath of the Minister’s visit underscores the delicate balance between seeking justice and maintaining peace in the community.
