The tragic incident of the stone quarry collapse in Mizoram has left 17 people dead and many more missing, as rescue operations continue amidst heavy rain. The disaster, caused by incessant rains and Cyclone Remal, occurred between Melthum and Hlimen in Aizawl. Efforts to extract survivors from the rubble have been hindered by the ongoing downpour.
