In the recent Mumbai Maharashtra Election Results 2024, the political landscape of the region witnessed significant changes. Anil Desai from Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction emerged victorious in the Mumbai South Central seat, securing a total of 3,95,138 votes. Desai’s remarkable win came after a tough competition against Rahul Ramesh Shewale from the Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde faction, with a margin of 53,384 votes. On the other hand, Piyush Goyal, a prominent BJP candidate and Union Minister, is currently leading in the Mumbai North constituency by a substantial margin of 3,50,921 votes against the Congress candidate.
The Sena UBT faction seems to be on a winning streak in Mumbai, with Sanjay Dina Patil leading by 23,486 votes in Mumbai North East, Arvind Ganpat Sawant leading by 52,301 votes in Mumbai South, and Amol Gajanan Kirtikar leading by 3,908 votes in Mumbai North West. Additionally, Congress’ Varsha Eknath Gaikwad is ahead by 18,580 votes in Mumbai North Central.
The Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai were conducted across six constituencies, with a total of around 120 candidates contesting for power. This year’s results have seen an impactful shift with the INDIA bloc gaining a majority in the state, as Sena (UBT) has secured 1 seat and is leading in 9 others. Congress has managed to secure 1 seat and is leading in 11 more, while the NCP (SP) is leading in 7 seats. This indicates a likely win of 29 seats for the MVA in the state.
In contrast, the Mahayuti alliance has also secured 1 seat by the NCP (AP) in Raigad. Additionally, the BJP is ahead in 11 seats, and the Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) is leading in 6 seats, projecting a likely tally of 18 seats in Maharashtra. Furthermore, an independent candidate is leading in one seat, as per data from the Election Commission of India (ECI) website.
