Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rainfall over the past few days, causing traffic jams, waterlogged roads, and delayed local trains, posing challenges for residents. The situation is expected to improve from Monday onwards after the city experienced its wettest day of the year. The downpour not only affected Mumbai but also led to landslides in nearby areas.

On Sunday, a part of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway was blocked due to a landslide near the Adoshi village in Raigad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted moderate to heavy rainfall in the city on Monday.

In Maharashtra, the IMD has issued an Orange alert for Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane, indicating heavy rainfall at isolated places. Furthermore, the district administration in Raigad has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges on July 26 due to the Red alert issued by the Meteorological Department.

The IMD has also issued a Red alert for Raigad, Pune, Satara, and Ratnagiri districts for July 26. Additionally, an Orange alert has been issued for Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane districts.

As the region grapples with heavy rainfall, incidents of landslides, road cave-ins, and accidents have been reported. From the collapse of a lab in a school to landslides near residential areas, the impact of the monsoon showers is evident. Efforts by the authorities have been underway to manage the situation and ensure safety.

Overall, the weather conditions in Maharashtra remain challenging with forecasts indicating continued heavy rainfall and the need for caution and preparedness to tackle the monsoon onslaught.
