Narendra Modi Elected as Leader of National Democratic Alliance for Third Consecutive Term

As the country awaits the formation of the next government at the Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met BJP veterans L.K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi at their residences on June 7, 2024, before staking claim to form the government at the Centre for a third consecutive term. The PM expressed his commitment to achieving unanimity in all decisions of his next government, emphasizing the principle of ‘nation first.’ The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has chosen Modi as its leader, aiming to focus on good governance, development, and improving the quality of life for all citizens.

During the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, the Prime Minister addressed key issues such as investing in green initiatives and promoting sustainable practices for the nation. He urged everyone to plant a tree in honor of their mothers and emphasized the importance of respecting both ‘my mother India’ and Mother Earth. Modi highlighted the government’s beliefs in competitive and cooperative federalism, empowering the poor and middle class, and continuing to deliver a better quality of life for every citizen.

In response to the results of the Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the NDA’s victory, despite opposition claims of defeat. The PM emphasized the need for opposition MPs to actively participate in parliamentary debates to contribute to the nation-building process. He took a swipe at the Congress party, noting their lack of significant gains in recent polls compared to the BJP’s performance.

As Modi prepares to take oath for the third time on June 9, 2024, he continues to emphasize unity and consensus-building within the NDA alliance. The coalition partners have displayed strong support for Modi’s leadership, endorsing him as the leader of the Lok Sabha, BJP Parliamentary Party, and NDA Parliamentary Party. With a focus on the country’s development and the welfare of its citizens, the NDA under Modi’s leadership is poised to lead India into a new era of growth and prosperity.
