The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently announced the NEET UG 2024 results, bringing forth a record-breaking 67 students achieving All India Rank 1, along with an increase in cut-off marks this year. The result, initially scheduled for June 14, was released on June 4, much earlier than anticipated.
This year’s NEET UG result showcased an exceptional success story of P Pavan Kumar Reddy, an aspiring doctor hailing from Anantapur and currently residing in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh. Pavan, with a 96% score in 12th grade, clinched the top spot in his first attempt at NEET. Motivated by the desire to become the first doctor in his family, he dedicated 6-8 hours daily to his studies, emphasizing the importance of studying NCERT books and focusing on error analysis after mock tests.
Amina Kadiwal, from Mumbai, emerged victorious in her third attempt, scoring a perfect 720 and aiming to study at AIIMS Delhi. Despite facing challenges, like health issues, she persevered and achieved her dream of becoming the first doctor in her family.
Tathagat Awatar, another NEET UG 2024 achiever, highlighted the surprise of sharing the top spot with 66 others, thanks to his perfect score of 720. His dedication and perseverance paid off, showcasing the competitive nature of the exam.
The NEET result also addressed controversies, with Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar raising concerns about irregularities and demanding an investigation into the alleged paper leak. The NEET UG toppers have been scrutinized for their high scores, but NTA clarified that only one topper, Ved Sunilkumar Shende from Maharashtra, holds the prestigious title.
Furthermore, the tie-breaking process was revamped for this year’s NEET UG to eliminate the computerised draw of lots and prioritize students based on marks in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, followed by fewer incorrect answers.
