As the date for Google’s annual hardware launch event approaches on August 13, more details about the highly anticipated Pixel Watch 3 have surfaced. The upcoming smartwatch is set to make its debut alongside the Pixel 9 family, with the Pixel Watch 3 being released in two sizes for the first time. According to recent leaks from sources within Google, the Pixel Watch 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon W5 SoC coupled with a custom co-processor.
The smaller 41mm model of the Pixel Watch 3 is expected to feature a 310 mAh battery, while the larger 45mm variant will sport a 420 mAh cell. Both models will see an increase in display size compared to the previous generation, with resolutions of 408×408 and 456×456 for the smaller and larger sizes, respectively. Additionally, the bezels of the Pixel Watch 3 are reported to be slightly reduced, providing a more sleek look to the design.
Moreover, the upcoming Pixel Watch 3 is said to offer improved screen brightness of up to 2,000 nits, a significant enhancement from its predecessor. The inclusion of UWB support has also been confirmed, allowing for precise device tracking and potential future integration with car key functionalities for select brands supporting this technology.
