Nothing’s CMF brand has officially announced the launch date of their first smartphone, the CMF Phone 1, along with other new products including the Buds Pro 2 and Watch Pro 2 in India. The announcement was made via a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the company, indicating that the details will be unveiled at their upcoming Community Update on 8 July 2024, 2:30 PM IST.
The event is expected to provide comprehensive information about the new additions to the CMF lineup, including the rumored specs of the CMF Phone 1. The smartphone is speculated to feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display with noticeable bezels, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage options expandable via microSD.
The CMF Phone 1 is also rumored to boast a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 16MP front-facing camera, along with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 33W charging. The phone is expected to come in plastic and vegan leather material options with a user-replaceable back cover, which indicates a focus on customization and sustainability.
In the global market, the CMF Phone 1 could be priced between $249 and $279 for the base storage model. However, in the Indian market, a leak cited by 91mobiles suggests the price on the box of the device to be ₹19,999, hinting at a potentially lower actual price upon release. The leak hints at an affordable price point for consumers interested in the brand’s offerings, aligning with Nothing’s strategy of providing premium products at competitive prices.
Nothing had introduced its CMF brand last year by launching earbuds, a smartwatch, and a charger, under this brand name in 2023. Moreover, the recent integration of OpenAI’s AI chatbot ChatGPT into all audio products further enhances the connectivity and user experience of the brand’s ecosystem. With the upcoming launch of the CMF Phone 1 and other products, Nothing aims to expand its footprint in the Indian market and offer innovative technology solutions to consumers across the country.
