As the BJP government prepares to take the oath of office, Odisha’s chief minister-designate Mohan Charan Majhi met former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to extend an invitation to the swearing-in ceremony. Mr. Majhi personally visited Naveen Niwas, Mr. Patnaik’s residence, to formally invite him. He expressed his desire for Mr. Patnaik to attend the ceremony, which will also be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Majhi emphasized the importance of receiving Patnaik’s blessings for the newly formed BJP government in the state. In response, Mr. Patnaik assured Mr. Majhi of his attendance at the ceremony. Prior to this meeting, a delegation from the BJP, led by state president Manmohan Samal, had also visited Naveen Niwas to extend the official invitation to Naveen Patnaik. The atmosphere is charged with anticipation as Odisha gears up for the historic oath-taking ceremony and the transition of power in the state.
