The OnePlus Nord 4 is generating a lot of buzz as it is scheduled to launch on July 16, promising to be one of the most anticipated midrange smartphones in 2024. Ahead of its official debut, OnePlus has made a significant announcement regarding the software support for the Nord 4. The company has confirmed that the upcoming Nord 4 will set a new standard by receiving six years of software support, including four years of Android platform updates and six years of security patches. This places the Nord 4 ahead of its predecessors like the OnePlus Nord 3 and even more expensive models such as the flagship OnePlus 12.

This extended software support policy aligns the Nord 4 with other notable smartphones like Samsung’s Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35. While these models are promised five years of security updates, the OnePlus Nord 4 will offer an additional year of support. In addition to the software updates, the Nord 4 will also feature OnePlus’ new Battery Health Engine technology, aimed at improving battery longevity. The device is certified for 1,600 complete charging cycles, ensuring that it retains over 80 percent of its battery health over a four-year period.

Although specific details about the battery are yet to be officially disclosed, it is expected that the OnePlus Nord 4 will come equipped with a 5,500mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging. The announcement of the extended software support and battery health improvements has generated excitement among users awaiting the launch of the Nord 4. With the promise of longer software updates and enhanced battery performance, the Nord 4 aims to deliver a seamless and reliable user experience for years to come.
