The smartphone market in India saw a new entrant as OPPO launched the Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G devices. Both models come packed with impressive features, including MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipsets, AMOLED displays with up to 120Hz refresh rates, and advanced AI-powered camera systems.
The Reno 12 Pro 5G is priced at Rs. 36,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and Rs. 40,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model, available in Space Brown and Sunset Gold colors. On the other hand, the Reno 12 5G is priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version, set to be available in Astro Silver, Matte Brown, and Sunset Peach hues, with sales starting from July 25.
Both smartphones run on ColorOS 14.1, based on Android 14, promising three years of OS updates and four years of security updates. The devices feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ quad-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and up to 1200nits peak brightness.
The Oppo Reno 12 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, and impressive selfie cameras.
Both phones come with AI-integrated features such as AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer, and AI Speak. Connectivity options include 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, IR Blaster, and Wi-Fi 6, along with an IP65-rated build for durability.
A highlight of the Reno 12 series is the 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support, claimed to charge from 1% to 100% in just 46 minutes. The sleek design and futuristic features set the Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G apart in the highly competitive smartphone market.
