After a decade-long wait, Pawan Kalyan, the chief of Jana Sena party and a popular actor, has finally tasted victory in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. Pawan Kalyan emerged victorious in the Pithapuram seat in the Kakinada district by defeating seasoned politician Vanga Geetha of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) by a significant margin of 70,279 votes. Pawan Kalyan garnered 1,34,394 votes in contrast to Vanga Geetha’s 64,115 votes.
This victory not only marked Pawan Kalyan’s maiden electoral win but also highlighted his party’s surge as a formidable political force by securing all the 21 Assembly seats and both Lok Sabha seats it contested. The tripartite alliance, consisting of the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena Party, won a noteworthy 164 Assembly seats and 21 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats.
The victory was a remarkable moment for Pawan Kalyan, the younger brother of superstar Chiranjeevi, and garnered immense support from his family members including Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Naga Babu, and Allu Arjun. Pawan Kalyan’s wife, Konidala Anna, and son were also seen celebrating the victory alongside him.
Throughout the campaign, Pawan Kalyan displayed a strong commitment to the people of Pithapuram, conducting month-long road shows and garnering support from family members including his nephew, Varun Tej, and brother, Chiranjeevi. His dedication to the town was further highlighted by his recent residence expansion in Pithapuram, showing his determination to work closely with the people for their development.
Acknowledging his supporters and party cadres, Pawan Kalyan emphasized his long-term commitment to politics and the importance of new age politics. With his strategic alliances and mature approach to seat-sharing talks, he demonstrated his capability as a leader and a crowd-puller. Pawan Kalyan’s victory not only signifies a personal achievement but also a significant political transformation in Andhra Pradesh.
