Pawan Kalyan, the chief of Jana Sena party, is slated to take on the role of the Deputy Chief Minister in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet, according to sources. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by N Chandrababu Naidu, emerged victorious in the recent assembly elections, securing 135 out of the 175 seats. On the other hand, Jana Sena, headed by Kalyan, clinched 21 seats, with their NDA ally BJP winning 8 seats.
Reports indicate that an NDA meeting was convened, during which Chandrababu Naidu was chosen as the leader of the NDA Legislative Assembly. Following this decision, a formal request was submitted to the Governor to invite Naidu to form the government promptly. As per the Governor’s response, Naidu will be called upon to assume office, with the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow at 11.27 am.
The development has drawn widespread attention, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various chief ministers from NDA-governed states expected to grace the inauguration event. Pawan Kalyan’s elevation to the role of Deputy Chief Minister in the state government marks a significant shift in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
Furthermore, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly session is slated to commence on June 17, starting with the swearing-in of MLAs. It is anticipated that the Speaker will be elected the following day. Upon securing the Deputy Chief Minister position, Kalyan is also expected to seek five cabinet posts for Jana Sena, in alignment with TDP’s leadership under N Chandrababu Naidu.
