The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a warning of legal action against a fan for an altercation with Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf in the USA. The incident, which went viral on social media, showed Rauf getting into a heated exchange with a fan while he was with his wife. Rauf, who performed well in the T20 World Cup 2024, was seen confronting the fan after the latter made some taunting comments. The PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi, condemned the fan’s behavior and demanded an apology from him. Furthermore, Naqvi stated that if the fan fails to apologize, the board will pursue legal action against him. Rauf also addressed the incident, mentioning that the fan made derogatory remarks about his family, leading to his outburst. This incident has put the Pakistan cricket team under scrutiny once again, as they recently failed to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. Despite ending their campaign with wins over Canada and Ireland, Pakistan finished third in their group and faced early elimination. The team is now dispersing from the USA, with some players returning home while others continue to vacation.
