The PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi, condemned the fan’s behavior and demanded an apology from him. Furthermore, Naqvi stated that if the fan fails to apologize, the board will pursue legal action against him. Rauf also addressed the incident, mentioning that the fan made derogatory remarks about his family, leading to his outburst. This incident has put the Pakistan cricket team under scrutiny once again, as they recently failed to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. Despite ending their campaign with wins over Canada and Ireland, Pakistan finished third in their group and faced early elimination.
