With around 30-40 Austrian companies operating in India, particularly in infrastructure development, tunneling, and railway track-laying, PM Modi highlighted Austria’s strengths in transport infrastructure, renewable energy, waste management, and water and sanitation management.
Austria’s advanced road network, efficient railways, and reliable public transport systems were commended by PM Modi. He acknowledged Austria’s leadership in renewable energy, especially hydropower, as the country moves towards climate neutrality by 2040. The focus on energy efficiency in infrastructure development and waste management practices in Austria was also highlighted.
Furthermore, PM Modi lauded Austria’s high-quality water supply infrastructure, emphasizing sustainable water management practices.
