The village of Pedaparupudi in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh is mourning the loss of Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, a man who was not just a renowned business tycoon but also a philanthropist and visionary. Born and raised in the humble farming family of Pedaparupudi, Mr. Rao’s journey to success is a testament to his dedication, accountability, and discipline over the span of 87 years. His contributions to various sectors such as media, culture, agriculture, and society have left an indelible mark on the village.
Mr. Rao’s impact on Pedaparupudi is profound, as he invested around ₹40 crores through the Ramoji Foundation for the welfare and development of the village. Projects like the reconstruction of schools, construction of digital classroom facilities, veterinary hospitals, water tanks, and other amenities have transformed the village’s landscape.
