This incident follows closely after the elimination of six terrorists in twin encounters in Kulgam, demonstrating the ongoing security challenges faced by the armed forces. The bodies of the terrorists were recovered from the Modergam and Chinnigam encounter sites, highlighting the intensity of the recent encounters.

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain lauded the neutralization of the terrorists, considering it a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the security environment.
