Tragedy Strikes: Deadly Fire Claims Lives at Food Processing Unit in Delhi
In a tragic incident that shook the capital city, Delhi, a massive fire broke out at a food processing unit in Narela, claiming the lives of three workers and leaving six others critically injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, sending shockwaves through the community.
The fire erupted at a Moong Dal factory in the Narela Industrial area of outer Delhi. Initial reports suggest that the blaze was sparked by a gas leak in one of the pipes, eventually leading to a devastating explosion caused by the overheating of the compressor. The intensity of the fire required the deployment of 16 fire tenders to the scene to contain the situation.
Atul Garg, the Chief of Delhi Fire Service (DFS), revealed that the distress call reporting the fire was received at 3:38 am. Tragically, three workers, identified as Beerpal (42), Shyam (24), and Ram (30), were declared dead upon arrival at Safdarjung Hospital. The injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at various hospitals in the city.
Efforts are underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the tragic incident. The owners of the food factory, Ankit Gupta and Vinay Gupta, residents of Rohini, are currently under investigation, with charges being filed against them for their alleged negligence in ensuring the safety of their workers.
