A tragic incident unfolded in East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area as a massive fire broke out at a children’s hospital, claiming the lives of at least seven newborns. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a distress call at 11:32 pm, prompting the dispatch of nine fire tenders to the site. Despite the valiant efforts of the firefighters, the blaze resulted in a heartbreaking loss of innocent lives.

Officials revealed that 12 newborns were rescued from the building, but unfortunately, seven infants could not survive the fire. The Delhi Police has filed an FIR against Naveen Chinchi, the owner of the Baby Care New Born Hospital, under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations are currently underway to determine if the hospital had the necessary fire safety certifications.

Expressing grief over the devastating incident, President Droupadi Murmu offered her prayers for the bereaved families and the swift recovery of the injured children. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the tragic event, promising to hold those responsible for negligence accountable for their actions. Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that strict punishment would be meted out to anyone found negligent or involved in any wrongdoing.

In the midst of this tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his condolences to the affected families, highlighting the need for prompt action and investigation into the causes of the fire.
