In a tragic incident that occurred in Maharashtra, a young woman lost her life after reversing her car off a cliff and falling 300 feet into a gorge. The heart-wrenching incident was captured on camera by the woman’s friend who was filming her while she was learning how to drive.
The woman, identified as 23-year-old Shweta Deepak Surwase, was accompanied by her friend Suraj Sanjau Mule, 25, as they had travelled from Aurangabad to Sulibhanjan Hills on a fateful afternoon. The video footage shows Shweta in the driver’s seat, attempting to reverse the car with her friend recording the moment.
As seen in the video, the car initially started the reverse, with the edge of the cliff looming distantly at 50 meters away. However, things took a tragic turn as the car picked up speed unexpectedly, despite her friend’s urgent calls for her to stop. In a desperate attempt to intervene, the friend tried to reach Shweta and prevent the car from plunging off the cliff, but unfortunately, his efforts were in vain as the car tumbled down the steep 300-foot drop, claiming Shweta’s life.
Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing sight of the vehicle hurtling down the cliff and crashing into the gorge below, leaving behind a grim scene of destruction. The friends had reportedly visited the Dattatreya temple in Sulibhanjan, a popular spot for tourists seeking scenic views, especially during the monsoon season.
